(Original review) My wife and I have used Simplenote as our "external brain" for several years now. No frills, special formatting, etc. Just reliable sync (which is absolutely crucial) and very stable. Exactly what we need. One of our favorite things about it is the sidebar showing the note list when in landscape mode. Much better than having to jump out of the app to see the directory.
